The Diversified Life

Hi,  my name is James Williams.   I am an older person that enjoys taking college courses although I frequently find it difficult to work them into my schedule.  My family, work, and the Air National Guard dominate most of my time.  Also, I enjoy home improvement projects and sport activities.   My wife, Jan, and I have two daughters Doris, and Pam.   Both are part of the adult world.  Doris works for Provident Bank in Cincinnati, Ohio while Pam is a married homemaker with two young girls -one is almost two years old and the other five.  Her husband is an Air Force officer which forces them to live in Anchorage, Alaska.  

My goals for this course are to become proficient in the use of FrontPage and building Web sites.   After frequently struggling with the syntax of our HTML problems during MCT 234, FrontPage is a blessing.   It may be a catch-22, since it would seem to eliminate the need to know the specifics of each HTML tag.   I currently work in information systems for Workers' Comp and see more and more of our activities being placed into some type of Web page.   Currently I assist in the monitoring and maintenance of  Web sites specifically designed to give information and files to Managed Care Organizations.  All of our Web Site construction is handed off to a department that specializes in this activity.   Thus, I see this course as a significant help in understanding what they do for us with the potential of doing it myself.
